Bulletin on Father Brian Taylor. 10.45 p m Wednesday 28 January 2015.
Following a fall at Seaford, Sussex, on the afternoon of Sunday 25 January Father Brian Taylor was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Eastern Road, Brighton. He was diagnosed as having broken his left hip (the other one was broken in January 2014). He underwent an operation on Tuesday 27 January 2015. He is currently recovering in Ward 8A - West. Today he had initial but limited physiotherapy. Deacon Michael Phillips visited him today. It is too early to indicate when he may be moved but it is hoped that he may in due course be transferred to a facility nearer to Guildford. A daily bulletin will be posted on this website at the end of each day.
Address for cards: Ward 8a - West, Millennium Building, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Eastern Road, Brighton BN2 5BE.
Father Taylor is now able to receive visitors. Visiting hours are 3.00 p m - 8.00 p m daily, with a restriction on patients' meal time of 6.00 p m - 7.00 p m. Flowers are not permitted in the hospital. The Hospital's website has good maps and directions. The Hospital Car Park in North Street is next to the Millenium Building. If the car park is full illuminated signs warn of this on the approach road: if full there are many on-street parking bays in the area, which take both coins and electronic payment, and are marginally cheaper than the Hospital Car Park.
Telephone messages and mail to Vine Cottage will be actioned daily but no mail will be forwarded to the Hospital.
